1 lb. of KnO3 (potassium nitrate)
1 lb. of Mg or MgAl (magnesium/aluminum)
1. Take an equal amount of both KNO3 and MG. (If desired, sort out magnesium turnings prior to measurement)
2. Mix both substances in a NON-METAL container such as a paper cup. A plastic bag can be used for this process but be careful of static electricity.
3. The flash powder is ready for use.
